Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Basically, open the book you’re currently reading and share a couple of sentences from that page on your blog. Avoid spoilers of course.
Although the trees have been dead for some years now, they persevere as structure, architectonic columns, platforms, bridges, and rafts. By virtue of all the lives within and among these trees, even as they gradually go down into the water, they are yet a living forest.
from Swampwalker’s Journal: A Wetland Year by David M. Carroll, p. 118
This sounds really cool! I hadn’t heard of this book before but I think I’ll check it out now…I work for a conservation organization that owns a lot of wetlands, and I could do with learning more about them! 🙂
My teaser is here!
That sounds like a worthwhile place to work!
I’ve never heard of this one either. Interesting title though. Hope you’re enjoying the book. My TT is here
Great teaser, very visual. Mine are at The Crowded Leaf.
See for me, if I am to be honest, that book would probably bore me or confuse me. I am not THAT bright after all. 😛
I hope that you enjoy your book. Here’s My Teaser
The book does contain some dense descriptions of habitats that don’t quite connect with me, but he is overall a good writer whose love for the wetlands really shines through.
Sounds like an interesting book! Happy reading
That’s an interesting teaser, something to think about. Thanks for stopping by mine.
