Book Blogger Appreciation Week (BBAW) Registration Post

My involvement in the book blogging world increased when I discovered the Book Blogger Appreciation Week (BBAW) awards last year.  I don’t remember which specific blogs I discovered through the awards, but I know it was a great introduction to the book blogging community.  A couple of months later and I became a book blogger myself.  My first post was November 4, 2009.

Today is the last day to enter one’s blog for BBAW award consideration.  I’d been hemming and hawing about whether to enter, and then the last week and half have been so busy, and the internet was down at home, that the deadline snuck up on me.  So I decided today, why not?

I am entering my blog for two awards categories: Best Eclectic Book Blog and Best New Book Blog.  The posts to be considered for each category are listed below.

Best Eclectic Book Blog

Swampwalker’s Journal: A Wetlands Year by David M. Carroll [review]

The Dud Avocado by Elaine Dundy [review]

Breath, Eyes, Memory by Edwidge Danticat [review]

Enna Burning by Shannon Hale [review]

One Bullet Away by Nathaniel Fick [review]

Best New Book Blog

The Summer Book by Tove Jansson [review]

Best American Travel Writing 2006 [review]

Defiance by Nechama Tec [review and movie/book comparison]

Summer Reading Recommendations

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan [review]

I’m looking forward to participating in this event and discovering new book bloggers!

We’ll be competitors 😉 Good luck!

  4. Good luck! I thought about entering as well but (1) I didn’t think highly enough of any of my posts and (2) I found the website confusing and wasn’t entirely sure where to register. Oh well!

    • It does feel weird to nominate your own blog! I got a little lost in the registration process myself, but eventually figured it out by clicking a lot of links. You should contact the organizers and let them know about your confusion – they seem very open to suggestions and feedback.

Nice!! Good luck and can’t wait to hear if you receive an award or not.

  6. Thanks for all the well-wishing everyone (even from my competitors, ha!) I just received the ballot today and am looking forward to discovering new blogs!
