Hello all! My younger sister flew in from Minnesota for a visit last Thursday night and left this morning, so I’ve been busy doing fun things with her. We went to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Festival, visited relatives in Virginia, went to St. Michael’s and Tilghman Island along the Chesapeake Bay and yesterday we capped it off with a nearly nine-mile hike up and down and around Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Whew!
I’ve just had a horrid day at work unfortunately, so even though my Google Reader has run amok with unread posts, and there are reviews that I want to write, I’m not going to even start on either. For the last bit of time before bed, I’m going to curl up with the deliciously creepy A Dark Dividing and drink something warm.
For my own reference, the books I have read and plan to review soon are: The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks (this, for a Break a Prejudice challenge), The Jane Austen Book Club (audio book) by Karen Joy Fowler, and Little Face by Sophie Hannah. I’m also nearly done with Sarah Orne Jewett’s The Country of the Pointed Firs, which I’ve been reading at lunch.
I do plan on participating in Dewey’s Read-a-Thon this weekend and have some books in mind.
