I am enjoying this day of reading – very relaxing and laidback. Right now I’m in the middle of Rene Gutteridge’s Boo, which is about a horror novelist who converts to Christianity to the extreme consternation of the town that has built up a tourism industry around him and his books. The main female character rubs me the wrong way at times, but there have been some cute scenes which I’ve enjoyed.
As fun as they look, I’m not going to be participating in mini-challenges for the most part, as my mind comes up with a blank for responses. However, I did come up with something for the Six Word Celebration mini-challenge hosted by Andi of Estella’s Revenge, which was held earlier today. I wrote:
Nice weather? The books still win!
I did make a concession to the nice weather by walking to the post-office mail drop box before noon to drop off a card and that was nice. I then stationed myself in front of the screen door out to my apartment’s balcony, so that I could enjoy the fresh air and sunlight. I’ll return there after I finish posting.
For my book about small-town hijinks, I listened to the soundtrack of Pleasantville. Now I have Stacey Kent’s In Love Again CD playing, where she sings songs of Richard Rodgers.
